About us

The Bicycle Unit, affiliated with the Transportation Services Directorate of Çanakkale Municipality, is a unit that works toward Çanakkale's sustainable transportation goals. Its mission is to make the bicycle network a visible component of the urban transportation system; to establish a continuous bicycle system integrated with public transit that is comfortable, safe, and accessible to cyclists of all backgrounds — connecting activity centers, workplaces, residential areas, schools, and recreational areas across the city; to promote cycling as a zero-carbon, environmentally friendly mode of transportation; and to develop the existing cycling culture in the city while encouraging individuals who have the potential to cycle, thereby generating solutions in terms of urban life, health, and socialization.
