Bicycle Life Park (BİYAP) and Bicycle House

The Bicycle Life Park and Bicycle House, implemented by the Çanakkale Municipality and designed by the Çanakkale Bicycle Platform, stands out as one of the finest examples of Civil Society - Public Cooperation. Located right at the intersection of Çanakkale Central District and Kepez District, virtually at the heart of Çanakkale, this project serves as an exemplary area bringing together a sustainable transportation culture and recreation concept.

At the center of our park, which features a total of 2,700 m² of green and open area, sits the Bicycle House, boasting a 135 m² indoor space and modern architecture. Our facility serves both local cycling enthusiasts and international bicycle travelers with its modern infrastructure.

With its modern and functional design, our Bicycle House building includes the following spaces to meet all the needs of our visitors:

Bicycle House Administrative Office

This is the center where all administrative processes aimed at public benefit are carried out to promote cycling culture in our city and support sustainable bicycle transportation. Our center handles the registration processes for Bicycle Travelers and provides information regarding the use of the Bicycle House and Bicycle Life Park, offering visitors alternative bicycle routes tailored to Çanakkale’s historical, natural, and geographical riches. At the same time, the Bicycle Academy within the office rigorously and institutionally manages processes such as planning basic, intermediate, and advanced level cycling training, as well as reservations and coordination for community activities like informational sessions, visits, workshops, meetings, and talks.

Accommodation and Room Features

Designed to international standards, our accommodation area can host a total of 8 bicycle travelers at the same time, specifically 4 women and 4 men, with a bunk bed system.

  • High Security: Coded lock systems are integrated into the room entrances and personal lockers.

  • Hygiene with Home Comfort: There is a laundry room featuring washing machines and dryers for our visitors' use. Each of our rooms is equipped with a hair dryer, and there is an open WC for everyone's use, as well as an open shower area dedicated to the use of Bicycle Travelers.

  • Work and Living Area: A table and chair suitable for our guests' use are provided in our rooms. This area is designed as a functional workspace, allowing you to work comfortably, edit your video projects, and make video calls seamlessly.

  • Air Conditioning and Comfort: For a comfortable stay, our rooms are equipped with windows featuring flyscreens and blinds. Additionally, air conditioners providing climate control (heating and cooling) are available to ensure the ideal room temperature in every room.

Bridge of Respect for History: Our accommodation rooms are named "Paris" and "Helen", drawing their names from the legend of Troy. These names pay a meaningful tribute to Çanakkale's thousands of years of historical and tragic background. Travelers coming from all corners of the world to stay at our center leave with their saddlebags filled with our city's historical and geographical riches, becoming voluntary cultural ambassadors.

Security and Social Areas

  • 7/24 Continuous Security: Safety is maintained at the highest level with advanced security cameras positioned to view every point of the park and facility.

  • Secure Bicycle Parking: Located behind the building, there is an indoor and highly secure special bicycle parking area unaffected by weather conditions.

  • Social Area & Library: Major bicycle races and events can be followed on the large television located in the common area. Additionally, a comprehensive city library featuring books on bicycles and Çanakkale's historical, natural, and geographical beauties has been put at the disposal of visitors.

Bicycle Academy and Training Track

Located right in front of the Bicycle House, there is a special bicycle track and training area equipped with informative traffic signs, signaling systems, seating benches, and large green areas.

Within the Bicycle Academy operating in this area:

  • Starting from theoretical training,

  • Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Level Riding Techniques lessons are provided,

  • Group Riding Rules for collective riding discipline are taught practically.
